Astronaut Brings a JDRF Flag to Space Today

May 14, 2010

Today a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Flag will travel through space on the NASA STS 132 mission. The Atlantis shuttle will launch today May 14 at 2:20 pm ET from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.  Thank you to JDRF Canada government relations volunteer Marie Coyea who collaborated with astronaut and mission specialist Piers Sellers on this initiative.

Sellers will take the JDRF flag with him in honor of Coyea's daughter, Myriam, 12, who has type 1 diabetes and dreams of becoming an astronaut.
