about

dana

Dana started at the Palmetto Chapter in February 2007.

Dana Bruce - Executive Director

Dana was born and reared in the upstate of South Carolina.  She obtained her bachelors in Spanish and a certificate in Latin American Studies from Wofford College in 2001.  After graduation, she worked for the United Way as a parent educator for the Hispanic families of Spartanburg, SC until her acceptance into USC graduate school where she focused on international politics and non-profit management.

Upon graduating from USC, Dana worked as a program coordinator in the Office of International Support for Faculty and Staff where she helped post doctoral researchers to obtain short-term visas so that they could collaborate with USC professors on cutting edge research.  During her time at USC, Dana remained an active volunteer in several local organizations serving on the board for the League of Women Voters and fundraising for the MDA association, Lung Association and Zig the Pig.  After three years with USC, Dana felt the desire to move into a career in the non-profit field.  She started at the Palmetto Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International in February 2007.
